Unfortunately, occasionally some dogs do make noise…barking occasionally is a natural behaviour for dogs.

This page provides information for my neighbours about the acoustic measures in the salon, expected noise times in the salon and a little bit of history around the setup of the salon.
I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you would like more or different information.

Generally dogs are not noisy during grooming, and usually if they do it is not for an extended period.
However occasionally I will have a dog in the salon that makes noise and sometimes it does last for a while.
Sometimes it is a puppy or new client and in which case I won’t know in advance and I apologies for the disturbance.
However occasionally I do have appointments for dogs that have a history of making noise in which case I will make the information about that booking here.

Show events

If you are a neighbour and you are planning an activity in your home where complete silence is essential and this clashes with an event in this calendar please email me at trimsalon3@gmail.com with the timings of your event and I will try and adapt this appointment if that is possible.
Obviously I am grateful for as much advance notice as possible so that I can schedule around your event.

General information about the acoustic measures inside my salon

Acoustic Ceilings
Acoustic ceilings have been installed in the salon, wash room and equipment area.
The ceilings are lowered Rockfon panel ceilings with 15mm deep panels, fire class A1, CE approved with 90% sound absorption, Longitudinal noise 26 dB.
The example recommended applications for this type of installation are Hospitality, Office, Sports facilities, Shop, Healthcare institution.

Acoustic Wall Paneling
The walls in the salon are covered with Trespa panels and installed behind each panel is a sound absorbing layer rated for 10db sound absorption.

Separated wash and drying room
The bathing and drying activities in the salon are conducted in a separate room that has it’s own acoustic ceiling adding and additional barrier to the main salon acoustic ceiling and is fully closed by internal doors which I close to during washing activities to further isolate any noise.

Equipment Isolation
My hair dryers and vacuum cleaner a placed in an dedicated equipment space that is enclosed in sound studio rated foam panels and the air is piped to other areas of the salon to reduce the noise generated by the equipment.

Acoustic Window Covering
The windows in the salon are fitted blinds, and triple later acoustic baffling curtains. I close these curtains if I have a noisy dog in the salon to reduce the propagation of the sound and improve the acoustics throughout the salon.

I have sent a description of the measures to the building construction company and received the following response.
‘als ik het zo lees heeft u er alles aan gedaan om de geluidsoverlast te beperken.
Wij zijn er ook zeker van dat wij bouwkundig aan de normen voldoen.’

A little history on the salon studio space

I joined the bouwgroup to use Studio A for the purpose of running a Trimsalon in November 2020 .
